As I crunched into the flesh of the Pink Lady the blast of sweet tartness filled my mouth. My shocked taste buds recoiled at the intensity. I changed my strategy. Gently I sucked on the dislodged chunk and savoured the tangy flavour.
After my puckered mouth gradually acclimatized to the unexpected sourness I tentatively took another bite. Ahhh, the jolt was a little less this time – happily I devoured the rest of the apple.

Hi Maurine,
You made my mouth water with the power of your sour description!
I also liked how you didn’t quite say what it was you were experiencing till the end–I didn’t think apple right away and wanted to keep reading to find out more.
Nicely done,
Jackie
